How to start 2019 on the right foot

Have you ever experienced what I call the post-holidays slug? That feeling of tiredness, the struggle to go back to school or work and eating healthy-ish food? Well, if you want to know how to avoid this and start 2019 in the best way, just keep reading.


Every year, immediately after New Year's Eve I start making all these crazy resolutions, that deeply I know I probably won't achieve. Once my very long list is done, I immediately go back to living the holiday life, meaning procrastinating work, having naps on the couch and bypassing every healthy food for chocolate. Now, if you are anything like me, don't worry, you are not the only one either.

Here are some things to do, that will make you start the new year with a kick.



Have a pamper

Having a pamper is the best way to start the new year. Throw yourself a bath with lots of bubbles, light some scented candles, grab a book and relax; and there's nothing wrong with doing that whilst sipping some wine ;)Personally, I like to go all out, exfoliate my skin, shave, throw on a face mask, paint my toes... you get the drill, the more the better. I promise you'll feel ready to tackle the new year and slay all those tasks, that you've been procrastinating, like a boss.




Make a 2019 playlist

Create a new playlist with a mixture of new releases you've been enjoying and good old tunes that speak to your soul. It'll help with going back to your daily-life, if you have good music to listen to on the bus/car, or whilst getting ready for that dreaded Monday.



Have a clear-out

You know what they say "new year, new me", well that's how you should look this dreadful but very useful task. Put some music on, that's when the new playlist comes in handy, and put away all the Christmas decorations and festive things laying around the living , although I would highly suggest to keep some fairylights on! Then, go into your wardrobe and make piles of things you haven't wore in a while, and donate them or give them to family and friends that will make a better use of them. Once your house is all clean and tidy you will feel a lot more productive and ready for a fresh new start.


Tackle your goals

Lastly, but not least, we have that famous list that we do every year ad never really follow. I'll tell you a secret it doesn't matter if you stick to it or not, so make it simple and realistic and pick something from your new year's resolutions and do it. Whether you've been wanting to start journaling, open a blog or simply join the gym, avoid procrastination and just go for it! Trust me, your cute bumb is not going to join the new pilates class on its own and by the time you know it it's going to be already February and your list will look depressively long and will just fire up your lack of motivation.


Now that you've got all the tools to start 2019 in the best way possible, remember the most important thing! Leave all the bad memories and negativity in 2018 and bring to the new year only a positive and creative attitude that will inspire you to be the best version of you and live life to the fullest.
